Atash
My main artistic project out of Austin. I have written, performed and traveled with this world music ensemble for the past 12 years.
Billy Joe Shaver
His song-writing sparked a revolution in Nashville in the 70's and continues to inspire today. I'm back in his band after an eight-year absence; and this time, I occasionally bring in the tabla on songs like "Live Forever".
Roberto Riggio
This is a great friend, a phenomenal violinist/oud player and a fellow co-founder of Atash. He has toured with International stars such as Kazem, Fairouz, and most recently Yousou N'Dour.
Darin Layne
Awesome guitar player, friend, and writing partner from Austin. We just completed an album of guitar and tabla compositions entitled "Left of Sunday Afternoon" available on CD BABY and itunes. Check out our version of "Black Mountain Side" by Led Zeppelin.
Aloke Dutta
This is my first and main tabla instructor. I began with him 12 years ago in Austin, TX. He now resides in Los Angeles where he has performed and recorded with many projects including the band, Tool (He is also the tabla instructor for their drummer, Danny Carey) . Aloke has published two popular instructional books and a DVD which can be ordered from this link.
Ganesh Kumar
This is my kanjira teacher. The kanjira is a small tambourine-like drum with a huge sound. It has to be seen to be believed--especiallly in the hands of this master.
Jef Stott
Brilliant electronic music producer/DJ from San Francisco. He is also a collaborator and mentor.

Sunray Project Collaborators

Indrajit Banerjee
Sitar master from Calcutta now residing in Austin. He is the newest member of Atash and is the most often featured artist in the Sunray Project.
Oliver Rajamani
Indian folk singer and multi-instrumentalist. We played in a band together called the Gypsies years ago. I'm honored to have him as a regular featured guest in the Sunray Project as well.
Ustad Ghulam Farid Nizami
Sufi master sitarist and vocalist who has recently moved from Pakistan to Austin.
Subrata Bhattacharya
Great tabla player from Calcutta. I am privileged to have him as a mentor and collaborator.
Fared Shafinury
Very talented Persian vocalist and setar player. I also play tabla in his band, Tehranosaurus.
